Timothy Leistner is an accomplished artist, author, illustrator, and educator. Primarily a watercolorist, he also works in other media including acrylic painting, collage and photography. Leistner was born in the Midwestern USA (Toledo, Ohio). He has lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for many years. His Midwestern upbringing as well as his life near the ocean is often evident within his art works.
Timothy Leistner has the distinction of being named “Best Visual Artist” by New Times Magazine, Broward and Palm Beach; awarded the “Teaching Artist of the Year” award, Broward County; The Joseph Leavitt Award for Commitment to the Arts; and “Artist of the Year for Community Impact; among others. His artwork has featured in numerous publications such as within Culture in Keys Magazine and the artist’s quarterly, Palette.
Timothy Leistner has authored and illustrated numerous books and recently created picture books for children. He co-authored and illustrated the books, The House Where Happiness Lived; Stitch and Sew – The Doll Maker’s Story (Button Bucket Books) and illustrated Turducken, The Untold True Story (Jovine).
Recently, he has included his artwork on a line of fashion and clothing through TIMO’S T-SHIRTS(Spreadshirt) and VIDA.
