ArtsUnited, Inc. is a nonprofit arts organization founded in 1999 in response to a growing need of local LGBTQ artists for an interactive and supportive working environment. Nowadays, our organization focuses not only on connecting LGBTQ artists and allies with each other and showcasing their work, but also on promoting the arts and cultural development in South Florida.
We implement our mission by operating programs and events that commission and present our member artists and promote the development of culturally diverse arts. We collaborate with other organizations in South Florida to ensure major benefits for our members and patrons.
During the past couple of decades, we have become one of the most renown LGBTQ arts organizations and we are proud to continue connecting artists and art lovers as well as providing a cultural outlet to our members and supporters.
Our membership- based programs provide artists with various opportunities each year to showcase their work and connect with fellow artists, as well as provide access to a variety of advantages and perks like preferred access and discounts for cultural shows and venues. Our events include at least one gallery opening per month and a variety of signature ArtsUnited events in partnership with other cultural organizations.
Art Explosion Festival: Two weeks of art and cultural events all over South Florida, featuring gallery receptions and exhibits, performances, film, fashion and cuisine. Art Explosion has become one of the most expected and important events of the South Florida cultural agenda.
The Provocative Art Show: Every year this show features remarkable and sensual artwork. Artists from all over the state look forward to expressing their creativity in a sexy, sensual, edgy, eye-catching, tasteful way and participate in this exhibit.
United & Proud: We believe in the importance of commemorating and celebrating the efforts and progress we have accomplished as a community. That is why, every June we commemorate pride month with a month-long exhibit celebrating our LGBTQ pride.
Monthly Gallery Opening: Every month we feature a different ArtsUnited member artist in a gallery reception for our community to enjoy. All work showcased is curated by our art critics and portions of the sales profits comes back to support our programs and services.
Artist’s Mixers: We love to mingle, that is why we have monthly networking events where our members can connect with other artists, art lovers and potential buyers. Our Artist’s Mixers are open to the public and are of no cost to our members. They are held at a different venue each time. If you wish to host one of our mixers, please contact us email@example.com
Our mission is to overcome barriers preventing the LGBTQ community from contributing fully and openly to the cultural, social and economic success of South Florida, as well as connecting LGBTQ artists and allies to the development of the arts and cultural scene.
